  • I'M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY
Swooping by, the whippoorwill cried out
Announces the end of all this melancholy
    Hear that lonesome whippoorwill
He sounds too blue to fly
The midnight train is whining low
I'm so lonesome I could cry

I've never seen a night so long
    When time goes crawling by
The moon just went behind a cloud
To hide his face and cry

Did you ever see a robin weep,
    When leaves began to die?
That means he's lost the will to live
I'm so lonesome I could cry

The silence of a falling star
    Lights up a purple sky
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry

At the stroke of midnight the whippoorwill sang
Carrying in his song a message of love
In there in the wilderness Seu Ze appeared
Inspiring the rhythm of this song of mine
I'm not alone I'm not lonely
The fallen star hes already risen
Throwing this rhyme in my improvised verse
For this cats who only want to jam
Whoever wants to know, the message, has been
sent and you there watching, get up and dance
